Our Story
Your Hosts
Stephen and Casey, hailing from Silverton, Colorado, are members of the San Juan County Historical Society Mining Heritage Center in Silverton. Stephen, in his role as the Exhibits Preparator, is responsible for the creative design and meticulous arrangement of the exhibits. Casey is the Director of the Archives, overseeing the preservation and management of an extensive collection of historical documents, photographs, and records.
Their connection to the region began almost twelve years ago when they started making regular trips to South-eastern Utah. The stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and friendly locals quickly captured their hearts, and their love for the area grew stronger with each visit. In 2020, their dreams came true when they had the opportunity to purchase a property in the charming town of Bluff. Although the house was built in 2018, it required a significant amount of dedication and hard work to transform it into the warm and inviting haven it is today.
Recognizing the beauty of their surroundings and their desire to share it with others, Stephen and Casey decided to convert their beloved home into a Vacation Rental. By opening their doors to guests, they have been able to provide a unique and immersive experience for visitors, allowing them to fully appreciate the breathtaking landscapes and rich history of the region. One of the most remarkable aspects of their hospitality is their willingness to welcome their guests furry friends. This dog-friendly approach has been met with overwhelming gratitude, as guests can enjoy their stay without having to leave their beloved companions behind.
For the past four years, Stephen and Casey have been creating unforgettable experiences for all who have had the pleasure of staying in their little “oasis in the desert.”
